What (or Who) is the Burrow?

Even this simple question is far from simple! Let’s start at the beginning . . .

Many years ago, in the early 2000’s, the spouse of a good friend made a comment at a party that “stuck.” We were hosting an impromptu get-together here at the Wilhite home, and he joined a group of us and exclaimed something to the effect of “Wow, time really does pass different here at your house! It’s like The Burrow in the Harry Potter books!” He went on to explain that the burden of time is simply taken away here because people are having a good time and just enjoying one another’s company without judgement. Somehow, from that point on, our little corner of the world became referred to as The Burrow! Over the years, both the abode and the collection of people (which more often than not includes more than just our biological family) have been referred to using the moniker. That’s the way we like it! We love that people feel comfortable enough here that sometimes they choose to stay on at The Burrow for a few extra hours, or in some cases, a few extra days/weeks/months!
