Another Day In Another World – NYC

I accidentally forgot to post this that Sunday night in NYC. It was a great day. Sightseeing, shopping, the American Museum of Natural History (where the first “Night at the Museum” movie was filmed), eating and more eating. New York is a fantastic place to visit; so many places to see and things to do. I can’t wait until our next visit! There are certainly downsides. It is congested and busy as heck. CRAZY BUSY. Lines everywhere, traffic that is as bad or worse than Chicago, and a good ratio of angry and unhappy people. It’s also a somewhat “cluttered” city. There are no alleys, so garbage is just piled on the curb in front of the building for pickup the next day, Nothing they can do about that, but it is surprising.

But, for every angry or unhappy person, there are a handful of dreamers, lovers, and genuinely wonderful people. A great example- we went into FAO Schwarz to look around, remembering the same store in Chicago years ago. The people working in the store put Disney employees to shame! They were the kindest, fun, knowledgeable, proactive workers I had ever seen. A great experience. Likewise, several of the food and drink establishments had great workers. I did have to pay $32 for two shots of Patron, but the waitress was very pleasant as I nearly collapsed.

As I said before, I can’t wait to return! There was so much we didn’t have time to see. We didn’t even leave Manhattan, so there are TONS of sights left to see. I have wanted to go to the Bronx Zoo since I was a wee lad. I would love to explore some of the local art scene, and being vegan, there are so many restaurants I would still like to try out. We will definitely be returning!
